Calling All Landlords
If you own rental property in the state of Virginia, we would love to partner with you! On behalf of our clients, we are looking for rooms to rent, apartments, sober living arrangements, and shared apartments. We provide housing stabilization services to our clients including case management while they are living in the community, a budget and savings plan, home visits, and rental subsidies according to financial need (recertified every three months).
Our goal is to find an appropriate housing solution for everyone. Partnerships with property owners in the community help make this goal a reality.
We would love to talk to you about our housing location program and how it can benefit you. Please contact one of our experienced Housing Locators, Lisa Floryancic (703-548-7500 ext. 212) or Cathy Smyles (703-548-7500 ext. 233).

Welcome New Deputy Director!
We are pleased to introduce Jamie Ergas as our next Deputy Director! Jamie has worked in homeless services for 15 years and brings direct practice, policy development, grants management, data analysis, and system planning experience.
Most recently, Jamie served as the Continuum of Care Manager in Fairfax County’s Department of Housing and Community Development’s Office to Prevent and End Homelessness. She managed the homeless services system’s state and federal funding, supported the governance of the continuum of care, and streamlined processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Ergas holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work and is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in Virginia.
“I am thrilled to return to the nonprofit sector to serve as the Deputy Director at Carpenter’s Shelter,” said Ergas. “I whole-heartedly believe in the agency’s mission and values and I am grateful for the opportunity to join a passionate and innovative team dedicated to ending homelessness.” Welcome Jamie!
